Students from seven different Beggs High School organizations took to the south side of Highway 16 last week as part of the Adopt-a-Highway program. We share some more photos in Live Feed last week.
The voluntary program, part of an effort to make our roadways litter-free, is designed for non-profit organizations.
Each organization agrees to pick up litter a minimum of four times per year. This is the third effort by the BHS organizations, after picking up trash twice last spring. Another pick up day is scheduled this fall for the north side of Highway 75.
Over 50 bags were gathered last week as students enjoyed a nice morning weather-wise for their work.
The rewarding work has students proud of their efforts and sponsors hearing them take ownership over this particular stretch of roadway.
