National Honor Society members at Beggs High School are required to earn 10 service hours for the year and sometimes those look a little different.
Along with group service projects, students can choose individual opportunities to devote their time or resources to to meet requirements.
BHS senior Jackson Siegenthaler spent a Saturday morning volunteering at the Shark Shiver benefitting the Okmulgee County Sharks. The event raised money for the Shark athletes at Special Olympics.
Additionally, sophomore Avery Been chose to donate needed items to the Okmulgee County Homeless Shelter.
Another group of students, including senior Cali Carter, spent this past Monday picking up trash around downtown Beggs to earn more hours.
