Mrs. Annette Eggleston was named Beggs Public Schools District Teacher of the Year this morning during a staff meeting ending the school year. Eggleston, who is retiring this year, taught for 21 years at Beggs. She taught Headstart, then Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten. Other site Teacher of the Year winners and Support Staff of the Year winners were honored at the meeting. District retirees were also named. Beggs Superintendent Shawn Tennyson and Beggs Board of Education staff members passed out gifts to retiring staff and honorees.

BHS senior Cali Carter's first home run of the slow pitch season couldn't have come at a better time. The bomb tied yesterday's softball game at Prue 10-10 and the Lady Demons were able to score another run to secure the win at 11-10.

Members of Beggs High School's Business Professionals of America chapter enjoyed a day with the OKC Thunder organization for Career Day and attended a Thunder game!!! BHS chapter advisor is Darla Six.

Mark your calendars May 18th! 12 p.m. First Annual Lady Demon Softball Alumni Game. We hope to do this for many years to come. This could a big fundraiser for our softball program! Please come out and support our new Lady Demons and play on the turf.

Beggs High School Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Member of the Year were announced this morning during a faculty meeting. BHS Principal Autumn Caldwell shared the news after a short visit with 2023 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year Traci Manuel. Jeffrey With, BHS Civics/Government & English II instructor, was voted BHS Teacher of Year. With is in his first year at Beggs High School. Amanda Terry, who has been with the district for 10 years, was voted BHS Support Staff Member of the Year. Beggs High School faculty/staff members vote yearly for these honors. *With and Terry are pictured with 2023 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year Traci Manuel.
